My husband and I recently experienced Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston for the first time. It had a lot going on...the atmosphere was Americana and fun, the service was ample and fast-moving, and the food was varied and plentiful. My husband ordered a burger with potato salad and I had the chicken pot pie with cornbread and peaches. We were a bit disappointed in our dishes as the burger was overcooked, the pot pie crust was hard and stale, and the peaches were simply canned peaches. But we do believe the overall experience of the cafe is the reason for its popularity and it is a very nice experience. Pass-Arounds are offered to tables as included additions to meals...fried okra, fried potatoes and onions, black eyed peas, macaroni and tomatoes, apple butter, sorghum molasses. And of course the pièce de résistance to the entire experience...throwed rolls. Fun to watch, fun to catch...and very tasty. Very well-staffed with a large seating capacity. Nice gift shop. Ample parking. Nice RV park with 31 full hookup sites for convenience.

I've been to all three locations in the past, and this was the first time the food wasn't top-notch. The breading on the fish lacked flavor as well as the packaged tartarsauce was a disappointment, and the corn had an odd, sweet flavor . Overall all we still enjoyed our visit, and the food and service are usually awesome. We will definitely be back to this location as well as the others in the future!

This was much calmer and more organized than I anticipated. The food was good (hog jowls an unexpected favorite) and plentiful. The atmosphere was fun and the servers were attentive and entertaining. It wasn’t even that expensive, and the wait was fine. There is plenty to look at and do.

You just have to go! This Diner is a must stop for a great meal and a one of a kind experience. Yes, they throw rolls across the room. The rolls are very good. Home cooked meal with all the sides. If you are ever passing through Sikeston, you must stop. The tea was delicious. Servers walk around with pots of sides like beans and okra.

Home of the original throwed rolls!! If you leave Lambert’s cafe hungry it’s your own fault! There will be a line and a wait. It’s worth it. Go early, go late or regular time…there’s a line and a wait. It’s worth it. The rumor is if you fly in and shuttle to the restaurant you get to go to the front of the line. I don’t know, but it’s still worth it. Excellent country vegetables; corn, beans, okra, salads, pickled things. Entrees of beef, chicken…country fried, chicken and dumplings. Plenty of food. The rolls and sides keep coming, as long as you want. And the rolls, hot, buttery, soft, hummed at you from across the restaurant. Catching them brings a level of satisfaction and joy that actually makes them taste better! We’ve been to the one in Missouri and Foley. It’s worth the wait and worth the hype.

We both ordered the frog legs, they were amazing in fact everything was good. The fried potatoes with onions they bring around are a meal in themselves. Our waitress was on point the entire meal never wanted for anything. Definitely will be back

In keeping with the tradition of Pachyderms visiting Lambert's, we stopped on our way back from a weekend in St Louis. My partner would stop in during training flights with B/6-101 while stationed at Campbell. Now any time we're near the area, we make a point to stop. Today, we arrived about 11:30am. It's a Sunday and Father's Day so we were expecting quite a wait. We actually got seated in about 30ish minutes which surprised us. Lambert's is a well oiled machine. The pass arounds and biscuits the size of softballs keep hungry tummies happy while waiting for meals to be delivered. Today I chose the chicken fried steak with beets and potato salad. My partner had the fried catfish with mac & cheese and white beans with added hush puppies. We took home leftovers plus a half dozen rolls that arrived so piping hot from the oven they almost couldn't be touched.

Food was great, service was good even though it’s really packed. It’s worth the experience, catching the rolls were fun but they tasted good as well especially with apple butter. A side I got that seemed meh but was actually delicious was the cucumbers and onion.
